<p><p class="header1">Andrew Llanwarne: External Positions held</p><ul><li>Member of <strong>Dundee Local Access Forum</strong> from April 2010<strong>&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</li><li>Member of Steering Group for <strong>STRIDE (Sustainable Travel in Dundee East) </strong>since December 2009.</li><li><strong>Teaching Associate&nbsp;</strong>(part-time) at&nbsp;University of Dundee, Town &amp; Regional Planning.&nbsp; Started in&nbsp;Masters programme on <strong>Sustainable Urban Development </strong>- covering SD Indicators, Governance, Evaluation,&nbsp;2010. Repeated 2011 &amp; 2012, plus undergraduate lecturing in <strong>Sustainable Development and the Environment</strong>, and <strong>Environmental Assessment</strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp; </li><li><span class="boldtext">Board member of SNIFFER</span> (Scotland and Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research) since October 2008.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Board member of the <strong>Claverhouse Group, </strong>a Dundee-based charitable company delivering Government training programmes for young people and the long-term unemployed, since September 2009</li><li>Board member, <strong>Friends of the Earth Scotland</strong>, since May 2011</li><li>Convenor, <strong>Friends of the Earth Tayside</strong>, since November 2010</li><li>Member of Scottish Executive Steering Group on <strong>Best Value and Sustainable Development for Public Bodies </strong>from December 2005-June 2006, resulting in the guidance Toolkit (see publications). Subsequently seconded to work with the Scottish Executive Best Value Team for 6 months, September 2006-March 2007, as a part-time <strong>consultant in Sustainable Development and Knowledge Management</strong>, to build capacity in this area among public bodies.</li><li><span class="boldtext">Board member with SISTech</span> (the Scottish Institute for Sustainable Technology) from 2000 - 2004<br /></li><li>Scottish Enterprise representative on the <span class="boldtext">Synchroni UK Knowledge Management Forum</span> from 2002-2006, attending seminars in the UK and Europe to share experience and different approaches to knowledge management<br /></li><li>Member of the <span class="boldtext">East of Scotland European Partnership Sustainable Development Policy Group</span> from 1997-2007 (latterly renamed the Key Policies Group), involved in developing a new approach to mainstreaming sustainable development in the allocation of European Structural Funds, and sharing experience with other European regions through an <a href="http://www.esep.co.uk/East0006/east_horizont/easthrzt_frame.html" target="_blank">EU Commission Pilot Project</a>.&nbsp; Reappointed to the Key Policies Group in 2009.<br /></li><li>Member of the <span class="boldtext">Institution for Economic Development</span> since 1996, and of the Scottish Branch Executive since 2004<br /></li><li>Chair of the <span class="boldtext">Sustainability Working Group</span> for Dundee City Council Community Plan, 2000-2001<br /></li><li>Member of the Steering Group for <span class="boldtext">Tayside Economic Research Centre</span> at the University of Abertay, from 1996-2002<br /></li><li>Founder and Honorary Secretary of <span class="boldtext">START</span>, a charitable trust to assist disadvantaged young athletes in Scotland, from 1994-2006<br /></li><li>Chairman of the <span class="boldtext">Scottish Association of Tourist Officers</span> 1990-91, responsible for devising the first comprehensive approach to training tourism staff in Scotland<br /></li><li>1983-91, successively, member of the Visitor Services Group, the Overseas Marketing Group, and the UK Marketing Group, for the <span class="boldtext">Scottish Area Tourism Network</span>, helping to develop national policy in each of these areas<br /></li><li>Secretary of the <span class="boldtext">Conference &quot;Europe of Regions&quot;</span>, held in Copenhagen and organised by the Danish Institute, from 1979-85, responsible for liaison with political and academic delegates from different regions and writing the conference report.</li></ul><p><a href="http://www.ideaction.co.uk/page.cfm/page_ID/1/title/About-Us"></a></p></p>
